Top-Line Performance and Segment Review
For the first nine months of 2026, the company’s core revenue streams experienced slight contractions.
Rooms revenue—the primary driver—stood at N46.29 billion, compared to N46.65 billion in the previous year. Food and beverage earnings also adjusted downward by roughly 8.32% to N19.27 billion (down from N21.02 billion), representing about 27.7% of overall revenue.
Event-centre hall rentals contributed N981.52 million (compared to N1.15 billion in 9M 2025), while shop rentals remained broadly stable at N1.36 billion. On the expenditure side, cost of sales contracted by 6.4% to N16.15 billion (down from N17.26 billion), demonstrating effective optimization at the operational level. Total operating expenses were kept tightly managed at N29.32 billion, reflecting a slight improvement from N29.86 billion in the corresponding period of 2025.
Finance Income Surge Drives Bottom-Line Growth
A notable highlight for investors in the Q3 report was the exponential jump in finance income, which surged to N4.46 billion from N520.68 million in 9M 2025. This was primarily propelled by interest on intercompany loan receivables, which scaled to N4.19 billion (up from N502.58 million), alongside a rise in bank deposit interest to N269.89 million. Because of this substantial boost in financial returns and an optimized tax position, the company’s profit after tax (PAT) managed a robust 4.85% year-on-year expansion to close at N15.54 billion, lifting Basic Earnings Per Share (EPS) to 152 kobo (from 145 kobo).
Balance Sheet, Borrowings, and Cash Flows
Transcorp Hotels’ total assets expanded significantly to N206.82 billion as of September 30, 2026, up from N159.91 billion at the close of December 2025. Property, plant, and equipment also grew to N127.69 billion, driven by ongoing capital investments. To fund its strategic growth initiatives and expansions, the group’s total borrowings increased to N54.96 billion (comprising current and non-current portions), reflecting the execution of new credit facilities such as the N44.46 billion term loan. Cash and bank balances closed the period strong at N20.34 billion, providing solid liquidity headroom.
Market Standing & Free Float Compliance
Trading at a share price of N290.50 (as of market close in mid-October 2026), Transcorp Hotels continues to demonstrate strong investor value, boasting an impressive year-on-year stock appreciation. The company remains fully compliant with the Nigerian Exchange Limited’s (NGX) free float requirements for the Main Board, boasting a free float value of over N380.7 billion across 1.31 billion free float units (representing 12.79% of its total issued share capital). With major strategic assets—including the world-class 5,000-seater Transcorp Centre—cementing its status as Africa’s premier destination for high-profile international and corporate gatherings, Transcorp Hotels is strategically positioned to capture heightened demand heading into the final quarter of the financial year.
