WorldStage– FTN Cocoa Processors Plc has announced the appointment of Otunba Wale Jubril as the Interim Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective July 21, 2026.
The announcement was made in an official corporate disclosure released to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), shareholders, and the public.
The board appointment follows the passing of the company’s former Chairman, High Chief (Sir) S.O. Oguntimehin, OON, who died on March 30, 2026. The board expressed profound sadness over his demise while acknowledging his contributions and leadership toward the company’s growth.
To ensure effective governance and leadership continuity, the Board of Directors approved Jubril’s appointment pending the selection of a substantive Chairman in line with regulatory requirements and the company’s Articles of Association.
Profile of the Interim Chairman
Otunba Wale Jubril brings over three decades of professional experience across banking, capital markets, finance, and corporate governance:
Academic Background: He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations (1988) and three Master’s degrees—in Marketing (1993), International Law and Diplomacy (1998), and Economics (1999)—all from the University of Lagos.
Capital Market & Corporate Experience: Qualified as an Authorised Dealing Clerk of The Nigerian Stock Exchange and a Chartered Stockbroker in 1992, he joined Paints and Coatings Manufacturers Nigeria Plc in 2009 as Executive Director, Finance. Since 2021, he has served as the Managing Director/CEO of Float Securities Limited.
Governance Roles: Jubril has been a Non-Executive Director at FTN Cocoa Processors Plc since 2015 and was appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director at Gateway Mortgage Bank in November 2022.
Professional Affiliations: He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, the Institute of Credit Administration, and the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria, as well as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Directors and a SEC-registered Capital Market Operator.
