WorldStage– The Nigerian Law Society (NLS) has announced its decision to confer the prestigious title of Senior Counsel of Nigeria (SCN), popularly known as the “Blue Silk,” on eight distinguished members of the legal profession.
The elite list of conferees includes a prominent Nigerian ambassador, five seasoned lawyers serving in the National Assembly, and two lawmakers from the Lagos State House of Assembly.
In a statement issued ahead of the upcoming investiture ceremony, the leadership of the Nigerian Law Society emphasized that the conferment is a testament to the diverse paths of excellence within the legal profession.
The society noted that the dedication of the eight individuals has significantly fortified the rule of law and democratic institutions across both state and federal levels.
The landmark recognition celebrates their exceptional contributions to legislative drafting, diplomacy, and the advancement of statutory law in Nigeria.
The NLS Blue Silk rank is an honor reserved for legal practitioners who have demonstrated peerless excellence, integrity, and dedication to the legal community outside traditional courtroom advocacy.
