WorldStage- Consumer goods manufacturer PZ Cussons Nigeria PLC has released its audited financial results for the year ended May 31, 2026, delivering a strong financial recovery marked by a 348.7% surge in net profit and a proposed dividend payout.
Chief Executive Officer Oghale Elueni attributed the strong performance to disciplined execution, operational efficiencies, and sustained brand equity despite macroeconomic headwinds. Efficient working capital management and deleveraging measures further aided the turnaround in total net equity.
Financial highlights showed that revenue increased by 22.5% to ₦260.46 billion, compared to ₦212.63 billion reported in FY25, driven by a balance of volume growth and strategic price adjustments across its consumer and electrical divisions.
Profit Before Tax (PBT) rose 364.08% to ₦77.32 billion, up from ₦16.66 billion in FY25; Profit After Tax (PAT) surged 348.7% to ₦45.17 billion from ₦10.07 billion recorded in the prior financial year; while net assets rebounded significantly from a negative position of ₦17.3 billion at the start of the financial year to a positive ₦70.6 billion at year-end.
Dividend Declaration and Corporate Actions
Menawhile, following the financial performance, the Board of Directors has recommended a final cash dividend of ₦2.50 per ordinary share of 50 kobo each, subject to shareholder approval and appropriate withholding tax deductions:
Total Cash Dividend: ₦9.93 billion.
Qualification Date: Shareholders whose names appear in the Register of Members as of the close of business on October 9, 2026.
Closure of Register: The Register of Members will close from Monday, October 12, to Friday, October 16, 2026 (both dates inclusive).
Payment Date: Scheduled for October 30, 2026, paid electronically to qualifying shareholders who have mandated their accounts via e-dividend registration.
Scrip Dividend Option: Qualifying shareholders have the option to elect to receive new ordinary shares in the company instead of cash. Elections must be made on or before October 23, 2026, with reference pricing based on a 10-day trading average starting October 12, 2026.
Annual General Meeting (AGM): Set to take place at the Ballroom, Fraser Suites, Abuja, on October 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
