WorldStage– House of Representatives Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas has advised the youths on how to reset their vision for the future they deserve as Nigeria commemorates its independence
He gave the advice on Sunday at on event tagged “An Evening with 004,” a fireside chat with youths at The Nest Resource Centre in Wuse 2, Abuja.
The event hosted by the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dayo Israel was held to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day and foster dialogue between young Nigerians and a key government leader.
The session also highlighted youth engagement and dialogue, which prioritized an intimate and interactive setting rather than formal speeches, giving young people an opportunity to ask bold questions and have direct conversations with the speaker.
The discussions, according to organizers of the event, were designed to be a safe space for honest reflection on Nigeria’s journey.
The engagement was said to underscored a renewed commitment to securing the future for the youth.
Unlike a typical formal event, it featured networking opportunities and cocktails, creating a relaxed atmosphere for connection and conversation.
Dayo Israel on his part appreciated the attendees as well as the powerful engagement that took place.
According to the Youth Leader, the event was consistent with Speaker Abbas’s ongoing focus on youth involvement in governance and national development.
Justifying his claim of the Speaker’s focus on youth, he stated that the Speaker had repeatedly emphasized the need for greater investment in young Nigerians and their inclusion in policy-making.
He recalled that Abbas had commemorated the International Youth Day in August 2025 by stressing the need for more investment in young citizens.
Dayo Israel also recalled that the Speaker hosted a Youth Town Hall on the 2025 Budget at the National Assembly in December 2024 to hear young people’s voices in the budget process.
He applauded the Speaker’s love for the youth, saying encouraging continuous dialogue with youth to ensure legislative processes were inclusive and reflect their needs.
“Today I received the Speaker of the House of Representatives at the Youth House in Abuja,” he said.
“Although on Sunday, the hall and various overflows were filled to the brim. I want to specially thank everyone who turned up to hear our Speaker, Rt Hon Tajudeen Abass and participated in our Independence Day activity today.
“Many thanks to Mr Speaker, Madam Speaker, Members of the Diplomatic Corps and other VIPs and appointees who showed up. APC Youth Wing Rising.”
