WorldStage— The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Jarrett Tenebe, has expressed absolute dedication to the President’s re-election bid, declaring that he would go to extreme lengths to ensure the state achieves its ambitious electoral target.
He vowed to do everything humanly possible to deliver 2.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking in an interview on TVC News on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, Tenebe said: “If my right hand is going to be an impediment to us delivering the 2.5 million votes to the president, I will cut it off,” Tenebe stated, emphasizing that his dramatic pledge symbolizes unshakable loyalty to both President Tinubu and the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo.
The APC Chairman noted that the party’s sweeping victory in the recently concluded local government elections has strongly reinforced their confidence ahead of 2027.
In that council poll, the APC secured all 18 chairmanship positions and 192 councillorship seats across Edo State, amassing a total of 2,158,600 votes.
According to Tenebe, this overwhelming outcome is a historic mandate that clearly reflects the public’s absolute trust in Governor Okpebholo’s administration and the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
During the media appearance, Tenebe also cleared the air regarding reports that APC state chairmen had collectively rejected a proposed broad political coalition involving opposition forces.
He clarified that no official meeting had occurred to take a definitive stance on the matter. “There was no time the state chairmen met at once to condemn the coalition or endorse it,” he explained.
Tenebe added that state party chapters do not independently determine such high-level political alignments, noting that the progressive governors remain the ultimate leaders of the party within their respective states.
With the local government elections successfully concluded, Tenebe assured stakeholders that the party machinery in Edo State is now fully mobilized.
He reiterated that the state is firmly secure for the APC, allowing the ruling party to leverage its grassroots structures and visible developmental strides to deliver a landslide victory for President Tinubu when the country heads to the polls in 2027.
