WorldStage– President Bola Tinubu on has praised the Coca-Cola System for its proposed $1 billion investment in Nigeria, describing the massive financial commitment as a powerful demonstration of confidence in the country’s economy.
He described the multi-year commitment as a profound demonstration of enduring confidence in the nation’s evolving economy.
Speaking in Abuja at the 75th anniversary flagship celebration of the Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC), the President gave a strong assurance to corporate leaders that Nigeria remains fully open to both local and international investors.
He emphasized that his administration is fiercely dedicated to building a business climate that is highly predictable, competitive, and supportive of sustainable growth.
Represented by Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Tinubu noted the five-year $1 billion plan builds upon a previous $1.5 billion investment over the last decade.
Stressing that Nigeria is firmly open for business under the Renewed Hope Agenda, Tinubu pointed to structural reforms aimed at curbing import reliance and boosting local manufacturing.
Highlighting the economic impact, the President noted that Coca-Cola generated roughly $1billion in local economic value in 2024, supporting over 160,000 livelihoods and sourcing $601 million from domestic suppliers.
He urged NBC and corporate leaders to continue nurturing indigenous talent and strengthening supply chains, as the government works to address infrastructural and regulatory hurdles to ensure long-term investor success.
The manufacturing footprint continues to empower local farmers, logistics providers, suppliers, and retailers.
Tinubu challenged corporate leaders to deepen local supply networks and aggressively build homegrown talent and pledged to sustain infrastructure improvements and policy consistency to safeguard long-term investor interests.
