WorldStage– The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Orientation Course will commence on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The disclosure was made on Tuesday in an official statement released across the scheme’s verified social media channels, ending weeks of speculation among prospective corps members (PCMs).
According to the management of the scheme, the mandatory three-week orientation exercise will take place concurrently across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The timeline released by the headquarters indicates that the registration of PCMs will begin on the opening day, September 30, and close on Friday, October 2, 2026.
The highly anticipated Swearing-in Ceremony for the new corps members has also been scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026.
The entire orientation programme is set to officially close on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
The Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier Olakunle Nafiu, extended his best wishes to all prospective corps members and course officials, praying for their safe transit to their designated orientation camps.
In light of persistent travel security challenges, Brigadier Nafiu cautioned the young graduates against embarking on night journeys.
He explicitly enjoined them to board commercial vehicles only at designated, government-approved motor parks to ensure their safety.
This announcement follows strict pre-mobilization protocols implemented by the scheme earlier in the year.
Corps Producing Institutions (CPIs) had previously uploaded their approved senate lists in late August, while the NYSC management mandated a strict online registration window from September 7 to September 13.
This batch also saw the enforcement of a compulsory clearance from the National Education Records Database (NERD) as a prerequisite to access the registration portal.
With the release of the official camp dates, PCMs who have been successfully deployed are expected to print their official call-up letters via the Official NYSC Portal as soon as they are generated.
Camp management officials nationwide have reportedly been directed to put all necessary logistics in place to ensure a hitch-free orientation exercise.
The National Youth Service Corps remains a pivotal year-long programme designed to foster national unity, cultural integration, and community development among Nigerian university and polytechnic graduates under the age of 30.
