WorldStage– Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday hosted Haitian-American music icon Wyclef Jean and reigning Miss Earth queens at the Lagos House in Marina.
The meeting included Miss Earth 2024 Jessica Lane and Miss Earth-Water Bea Millan-Windorski, who were in Nigeria for the E1 Championship Fashion Showcase and Experience.
Details of the visit focused discussion on topics as highlighting Lagos as a hub for creativity, culture, and environmental consciousness.
Conversations also focused on advancing global efforts for a cleaner and greener planet.
Wyclef Jean, known for his philanthropy and advocacy for development, was also present to help position Lagos as a global hub for culture and sustainability.
The visit underscored the Miss Earth organization’s promotion of environmental awareness and initiatives.
Showcasing Lagos, Governor Sanwo-Olu stated that the visit was an opportunity to showcase the “warmth, energy, and hospitality” of Lagos, presenting it as a welcoming destination for global events.
The visit occurred shortly after Lagos hosted the E1 Lagos Grand Prix, an all-electric powerboat competition and the first of its kind in Africa.
Governor Sanwo-Olu referred to the E1 race as a “celebration of Lagos’ dynamism,” which aligns with the environmental and sustainability themes of the meeting with Wyclef Jean and the Miss Earth queens.
