A multicategory platform and delivery app, Glovo has emphasised the need to strengthen digital support for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to drive inclusive growth and expand commerce opportunities in Nigeria.
Glovo made this known in a statement on Friday ahead of its Future of Commerce Summit 2.0 scheduled to hold in Lagos.
The Interim General Manager, Glovo Nigeria, Reni Onafeko, said the initiative underscored the growing importance of digital platforms in enabling businesses to scale and adapt to Nigeria’s evolving commerce landscape.
She said empowering SMBs remained critical, as they were widely regarded as the backbone of the country’s economy.
Onafeko noted that there was a need to provide businesses with access to the right tools, insights and digital infrastructure to enable sustainable growth.
“At Glovo, we are deeply committed to empowering local businesses and creating opportunities for SMBs to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.
“Nigeria’s commerce ecosystem is evolving rapidly, driven by innovation and a new generation of entrepreneurs,” she noted.
Onafeko said that the Future of Commerce Summit 2.0 reflected the company’s vision of fostering collaboration and equipping entrepreneurs with the tools and insights needed to scale sustainably.
“Through this platform, we aim to amplify the voices of businesses and drive impactful conversations that will shape the future of commerce in Nigeria,” she said.
Glovo is a technological platform connecting customers, businesses and riders, offering multi-category on-demand services from local restaurants, grocers and supermarkets, and high street retail stores.
