WorldStage– VFD Group Plc, a diversified financial services holding company with interests spanning banking, investments, and other financial activities has reported a strong half-year performance, with profit after tax rising to ₦10.06 billion for the six months ended 30 June 2026, more than double the ₦5.01 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
According to the unaudited consolidated financial statements approved by the Board on 27 July 2026 and filed with the Nigerian Exchange, Group gross earnings grew 30% to ₦53.71 billion, from ₦41.17 billion in H1 2025.
The results signed by Olatunde Busari (SAN) as Chairman, Nonso Okpala as Group Managing Director, and Azeez Adetayo as Acting Chief Financial Officer showed that net investment income increased to ₦41.99 billion (H1 2025: ₦35.04 billion), while net revenue rose to ₦45.83 billion.
Operating profit before income tax stood at ₦33.56 billion, up from ₦27.16 billion.
After finance costs and taxation, profit for the period attributable to equity holders of the parent was ₦7.81 billion.
Basic earnings per share improved significantly to 136 kobo from 29 kobo.
Balance Sheet Growth
Total assets expanded to ₦510.04 billion as at 30 June 2026, from ₦445.81 billion at the end of 2025.
Key drivers included higher investment in financial assets (₦167.35 billion) and funds under management (₦119.17 billion).
Shareholders’ funds attributable to equity holders of the parent rose to ₦104.17 billion, while total equity (including non-controlling interests) reached ₦124.87 billion.
Cash and cash equivalents declined to ₦18.77 billion from ₦79.47 billion at year-end 2025, reflecting deployment of funds into income-generating assets.
Company Standalone
The Company (parent) also posted solid results, with profit after tax of ₦5.03 billion (H1 2025: ₦1.17 billion).
VFD Group’s investment portfolio is a core driver of its earnings. Investment in financial assets stood at ₦167.35 billion as at 30 June 2026, up sharply from ₦98.70 billion at 31 December 2025 (a 70% increase). This portfolio, together with Funds under management (₦119.17 billion), forms the bulk of the Group’s income-generating assets.
VFD Group Plc continues to benefit from strong investment income and overall growth in its portfolio businesses.
