WorldStage Newsonline– United Bank for Africa Plc, a Nigerian pan-African financial services group with subsidiaries in 20 African countries and offices in London, Paris and New York, on Monday confirmed the delay in the filing of its Audited Financial Statements for the Half Year ended June 30, 2020 within the extended regulatory filing deadline.
In a note to the Nigerian Stock Exchange by Bili A. Odum, Group Company Secretary, the delay was before the Audited Financial Statements are still undergoing necessary regulatory approvals.
The Central Bankof Nigeria (CBN) is the regulator of the bank and other financial institutions and its results cannot be filed with the Exchange with the apex bank approval.
UBA in the note expressed optimism that the audited financial statements will be submitted to the Exchange on or before September 29, 2020.
The bank had announced the approval of the group’s audited financial statements for the half year ended June 30, 2020 at its Board meeting which was held on Thursday, August 13, 2020.
The meeting was also said to have approved payment of an interim dividend, subject to the approval of the CBN.
