WorldStage– The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has accused Aloy Ejimakor, one of Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyers, of resorting to “extra-legal tactics” by aligning with Omoyele Sowore to protest his release instead of focusing on his client’s defence.
Onanuga who wrote on X declared that Ejimakor’s action raised questions about his professional ethics and called on legal authorities to consider appropriate sanctions against him.
Onanuga wrote that he spotted Ejimakor among a “small group of protesters” mobilised by Sowore and questioned the lawyer’s decision to join what he described as a “shambolic protest.”
He said Ejimakor, being a lawyer, should understand the principle of sub judice, especially as Kanu’s treason case is still before the court.
“The prosecution has concluded its case, and it is now incumbent upon Mr. Ejimakor and the other lawyers to mount a strong defencefor Kanu,” Onanuga wrote.
