Esther Okoronkwo kickstarted the comeback with a well-taken penalty before turning provider for Folashade Ijamilusi, who made it 2-2. With just minutes left on the clock, Jennifer Echegini rose highest to connect with a free-kick and head in the dramatic winner.
The result sees Nigeria extend their dominance on the continent with a record 10th WAFCON title, reaffirming their status as Africa’s most successful women’s football team.
With this, Nigeria’s Super Falcons have completed #MissionX , becoming the first African team to win the #WAFCON tournament for a record 10th time!
