WorldStage– A severe rainstorm has damaged the newly constructed Kugbo Bus Terminal in Abuja, the Nigeria’s capital, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, leading to significant structural issues and debris that crippled traffic along the Nyanya–Mararaba axis.
Commuters on the critical Abuja-Keffi highway faced severe delays as authorities struggled to manage the gridlock.
The rainstorm caused significant damage to the newly constructed, N51 billion bus terminal, severely peeling the roof off one of the main structures, raising questions about the quality of construction for the project, which is part of a larger, expensive initiative to upgrade Abuja’s transportation infrastructure.
The ₦51 billion project, which includes other sites, was commissioned to reduce traffic congestion and provide modern transport facilities in the Federal Capital Territory.
