WorldStage Newsonline– The Federal Government of Nigeria has disbursed N5.12 billion pension arrears to 90,689 Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) pensioners under Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).
A statement by Mr Olugbenga Ajayi, Head of Corporate Communications of PTAD said the 90,689 pensioners across the four pension departments were assured of dedication and commitment to pensioners welfare.
The breakdown showed that Nigeria Customs Service, the Nigeria Immigration Service and Prisons Pension Department (CIPPD) with 8,626 pensioners received N276,032, for one month arrears, the Police, Pension Department (PPD) with 9,681 pensioners received N619,584, for two months as arrears.
The Civil Service Pension Department (CSPD) with pensioners 12,773 received N408,736, for one month arrears, and the Parastatals Pension Department (PAPD) with 59,609 pensioners received N3,814,976, for two months arrears.
He said that the payment reaffirms the administration’s commitment to ensuring that pensioners received their due entitlements in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
