WorldStage— Former Governor of Adamawa State, Senator Mohammed Umar Jibrilla Bindow, has resigned his membership from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
His formal resignation was tendered in an official letter addressed to his ward chairman in Lokuwa Ward, Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
In the statement, Bindow noted that his departure followed careful reflection on his personal convictions, political aspirations, and evolving political realities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The resignation officially took effect from July 15, 2026, with Senator Bindow expressing a need to take a “new path” consistent with his long-term vision to serve the people.
Summarizing his exit he said “It is time to move, so I have moved.”
His exit comes amid reports of internal friction within the Adamawa State ADC chapter, coupled with high-level engagements including a recent strategic meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa.
