WorldStage– The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the third and final phase of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will commence on Monday, May 11, 2026, and end on Friday, July 10, 2026.
The Commission, in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Mohammed Kudu Haruna, urged voters seeking to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or correct their biodata to take advantage of the exercise.
The IVEC Chairman recalled that the second phase of the exercise was suspended on April 17, 2026, following the publication of the register for claims and objections, a process aimed at cleaning up the voters’ register.
According to him, the resumption of the exercise provides another opportunity for eligible Nigerians, particularly those who have recently turned 18 or were unable to register during earlier phases, to enroll.
The Commission also stated that services such as voter transfer, replacement of lost or damaged PVCs, and correction of biodata can be accessed through its dedicated online portal or at INEC state and local government area offices nationwide.
He further announced that the display of the Register of Voters for claims and objections will hold from July 23 to July 29, 2026. He described the exercise as a critical step in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and credibility of the voters’ register.
“The Commission reassures Nigerians that all necessary arrangements have been concluded for the smooth conduct of the exercise,” the statement read.
The IVEC Chairman appealed to all eligible citizens to participate actively in the registration process, emphasizing that broad-based participation remains essential to strengthening Nigeria’s electoral process.
