Engr. Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye has announced that the Ilesa-Akure-Owo expressway is going to be closed for ease of construction work for five days, beginning from Sunday October 5th to Friday October 10th 2025.
Olawoye said this becomes necessary because of casting and placement of pre-stressed beams on the ongoing flyover at Onyearugbulem/Shagari along Ilesha-Akure-Owo expressway,
The announcement reads: “This is to inform the general public especially motorists, that as a result of casting and placement of pre-stressed beams on the ongoing flyover at Onyearugbulem/Shagari along Ilesha-Akure-Owo expressway, the highway will be closed for 5 days starting from Sunday October 5th to Friday October 10th 2025.
“Adequate arrangements have been made for the diversion of traffic for the period of this exercise.
“We regret any inconvenience caused by the closure and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our infrastructure.
“Our EASE is working!”
