The Inspector General of Police (I-G), Mr Kayode Egbetokun, on Sunday, urged police commands across the country to embark on infrastructural development for the wellbeing of people within its community.
Egbetokun gave the advice at the inauguration of a multi-millionaira hospital wards and physiotherapy department at the Police Command headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the project is named “Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun wards and physiotherapy department”
The I-G said that the project, which was in line with the vision of the leadership of the Police, centered on the wellbeing of the officers and men of the force.
He urged the leadership in the various police commands, especially the medical sector, to always look inward and think of projects that would be of benefit to not only the police but the general public.
According to him, the project will be of benefit to the police and the general public .
“The building, which is named after me and made up of seven wards and physiotherapy unit, was completed in record time.
“The project was initiated by the ACP Kazim Olakunle of the Command’s Medical Unit.
“I enjoin all commands across the country to follow suit.
“Also, I want to thank the leadership of the Oyo command for adequate protection of lives and property,” Egbetokun said.
