WorldStage– Nigeria’s leading power generation company, Geregu Power Plc, says its targeting over N8billion in profit for its half year period ending June 30, 2026.
The power company, with a combined installed capacity of about 1.0GW, operates two gas fired plant in Africa’s fourth largest economy. It is one of the largest capitalized stocks on the Nigerian bourse at N2.85 trillion.
The half year financial forecast of the company presented to investors on the Nigerian Exchange Limited on Tuesday, showed that revenue is expected to hit N44.34 billion by June ending while cost of sales stands at (N27.40 billion) as Gross Profit is estimated at N16.93 billion.
Administrative expenses is seen to stand at N2.06billion while Operating Profit comes to N13.86billion.
Cash flows from operating activities is projected to generate about N51billion from Cash Receipts on energy and capacity charges while a sum of N19.28billion will be expended on suppliers and employees, leaving N31.72billion as cash generated from operations in the period.
Geregu Power Plc delivered a strong financial performance for the year ended 31 December 2025, showcasing significant top-line growth. While net profit saw a marginal decrease due to planned increases in finance costs and tax expenses associated with our growth, underlying operational profitability remained robust.
Revenue increased by 35 percent to N184.94 billion, up from N137.13 billion in 2024. Operating Profit grew to N48.15 billion, compared to N42.95 billion in the previous year.
EBITDA (Calculated) rose significantly to N58.86 billion from N47.92 billion in 2024, reflecting strong operational cash flow generation. Net Profit stood at N27.25 billion, a slight moderation from N27.43 billion in 2024. EPS remained stable at N10.90, compared to N10.97 in 2024.
The Board has proposed a final dividend of N9.00 per share for the 2025 financial year, signalling confidence in the company’s sustained profitability and future outlook.
