WorldStage– Access Holdings Plc has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, titled “From Scale to Value,” with a record ₦72.3 billion deployed under the Sustainable Finance Framework.
Report for the Year Ended 2025, filed with the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) detailed significant advances in sustainable finance, environmental impact reduction, financial inclusion, and governance for the year ended 31 December 2025 was prepared in accordance with the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (IFRS S1 and IFRS S2), with complementary references to GRI Standards and SASB frameworks.
The report covers Access Holdings Plc and its key subsidiaries, including Access Bank Plc, Hydrogen Payment Services, Access ARM Pensions, Access Insurance Brokers, and Oxygen X Finance.
Key performance highlights include US$1.269 billion cumulative sustainability-focused loan book, ₦92.14 billion green asset portfolio, and US$185.38 million (approximately ₦266.83 billion) mobilised from Development Finance Institutions and donor agencies
Others include Financial Inclusion & Social Impact with 2.528 million low-income individuals supported with financial access; 354,156 loans totalling ₦67.48 billion extended to women and women-owned businesses (24% of the total loan portfolio); 78,438 new MSMEs onboarded to the financing platform; 80,000 women and youth empowered through various initiatives; 4,250 women certified under the She Enabled Initiative; 48,000 MSMEs trained via the MSME Toolkit Initiative; and 4,500+ graduates from the Digital Gap Empowerment programme
On Environmental Achievements, the report said 28.47% reduction in operational GHG emissions (against the 2022 baseline) was achieved, 323 solar-powered ATMs deployed, 263 branches equipped with solar infrastructure, 199 locations operating waste recycling programmes, while over 50,000 trees planted.
Other metrics include ₦4.8 billion sustainability budget allocated in 2025 (more than double the ₦2.1 billion in 2024), 2.8 billion transactions processed, 359,500 employee volunteer hours with 100% staff participation, Employee Volunteering Programme activities across more than 10 countries, Over 100 global, regional and local recognitions received across 15+ countries
On Governance and Compliance, the Group reported zero material regulatory penalties relating to sustainability for the second consecutive year.
It also recorded zero cybersecurity breaches and zero loss of earnings from non-compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulations.
Sustainability oversight is embedded at Board level through the Board Human Resources and Sustainability Committee and the Board Risk Management Committee.
Environmental and social risk management is integrated into credit processes via an ESG Toolkit aligned with IFC Performance Standards, the Equator Principles, and World Bank guidelines.
Group Managing Director/CEO Innocent C. Ike emphasised that sustainability remains central to the Group’s strategy of creating long-term shared value for shareholders, customers, employees, communities, and the broader African economy.
Access Holdings, which operates across 24 countries on three continents and serves more than 60 million banking customers, stated that it will continue strengthening data consolidation and coverage of sustainability disclosures across the Group in future reporting cycles.
