The General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Bible Ministries, Pastor William Funso Kumuyi has expressed concern over the ever rising cases of unfulfilled prophecies being dished
Kumuyi who shared the concern at a five-day retreat of the church themed, ‘Hope: Feasting after the famine’ held in Ogun State stated that preachers making unfulfilled prophecies were mere false prophets, pointing out that everything written in the Bible was meant for the enlightenment of believers.
Backing up his statement on unfulfilled prophecies, He said: “What was written in Genesis was written for our learning. What was written in Exodus, ‘When I see the blood, I will pass over you;’ it was written for our learning.
“What was written in Leviticus, ‘It is the blood that makes atonement for the soul;’ it was written for our learning. What was written in Numbers, ‘your sin will find you out;’ it was written for our learning.
“It is written in Deuteronomy, ‘If a prophet arises and he speaks a word and that word does not come to pass, note that man, he’s a false prophet.”
Kumuyi also recalled his encounter with persecution from relations, classmates, co-lecturers and his former church and admonished members of the Deeper Life Bible Church as well as all genuine Christians to reject anything that could jeopardize their chances of making heaven.
Giving examples from his own life, he told members not to give up their faith for mundane things.
According to him, he faced trials and persecution from family members, classmates, former church, principal, including a lecturer at the University of Lagos whom he called to order in class.
“Please remain focused and courageous and do what is right. Not everyone will support you publicly, but we are praying for you so that your tenure will be one of progress and prosperity for the country,’’ the Deeper Life church patriarch stated.
