WorldStage Newsonline– The Nigerian Communication Commission has thrown more light on the misconceptions surrounding the introduction of the latest internet 5G network to the Nigerian community, saying will make it easier to determine potential diagnosis and decide on the best treatment plan and faster using Artificial Intelligence thereby revolutionizing the healthcare systems.
In an official statement published by the commission, 5G in the education sectorwill help to re-imagine what is possible inside and outside the classroom, helping to download high quality and feature-length documentary in seconds, hosting a guest speaker via hologram or tutoring students virtually in real-time.
For businesses, the 5G network, it said will support innovative ambitions, create new markets, transform supply chain management and create smarter and more efficient manufacturing.
“Studies have shown that by the end of 2020 more than half of all new businesses will rely on the internet of things [IoT] to cut costs, build efficiencies, and grow their bottom lines. However, many of the innovations 5G technology will fuel literally may not be available yet especially in Nigeria. For the “IoT” to realise its limitless potential, 5G is critical,” the commission said.
“It will also help us to better connect rural communities, allowing more people to start businesses from home and opening up opportunities and allow for internet independence as businesses can own their own 5G network platforms.
“The transportation industry will not be left out in this notable lift. We would have Smart cars, car to car communications, smart parking, traffic decongestion and smart grids amongst others. These driverless cars and drones will be able to safely and near-instantaneously send and receive information about their surroundings and will allow them to operate safely.
“The Mobile telecommunications network firms will also take huge advantage of the development from the 5G network. The 5G network will significantly support faster mobile broadband speed and lower latencies than previous generations while enabling full potential of internet of things.
“Consumer Experience will also revolutionize. Users of telecommunication networks will experience an evolutionary shift which equates x100 of the speed of 4G. Retail experience will be more automatic and allow product visualization even in a local environment while enabling shoppers to view additional information on a product simply by pointing their phones at it using what is called MOBILE AUGMENTED REALITY (AR).”
Despite the fears surrounding the installation of the 5G network including radiation, the Nigerian Communications Commission said it will continue to help establish the fact that the technology is not alien but just a required metamorphosis.
