All arrangements have been concluded for the 2026 Conservation Walk and Conference, organised to commemorate World Environment Day 2026.
Addefort Nigeria has announced the participation of the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources and the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) in its upcoming Conservation Communicator-NG Conference and Conservation Walk.
The events are part of the Nigeria Conservation Race (NCR 2026), an initiative spearheaded by Addefort Nigeria in collaboration with local and international partners to mark World Environment Day and promote environmental sustainability across the country.
This year’s World Environment Day theme, “Climate Action,” highlights the urgent need to address environmental challenges and emphasizes the collective responsibility required to build a sustainable future.
Activities will commence on Thursday, June 4, 2026, with the Conservation Walk for a Cleaner Environment, scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. The walk will start from Allen Avenue and proceed to Alausa, Ikeja, ending with a reception at LTV, Ikeja. Participants will engage in environmental awareness campaigns and cleanup exercises along the route.
The commemoration will continue on Friday, June 5, 2026, with the Virtual Conservation Conference, scheduled for 11:00 a.m. under the theme: “Climate Action in Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunities.” The conference will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, fireside chats, and interactive sessions focused on advancing sustainable environmental practices.
Speaking on the initiative, Olabamiji Adeleye, Lead Consultant at Addefort Nigeria and Convener of the Nigeria Conservation Race, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to promoting environmental stewardship and driving sustainable development in Nigeria.
According to him, the virtual conference will bring together environmental experts, policymakers, corporate leaders, media professionals, youth advocates, and sustainability stakeholders to exchange ideas, foster innovation, and strengthen collaboration on climate solutions.
The Conservation Walk is expected to unite volunteers, government agencies, corporate organisations, development partners, and members of the public in a collective effort to promote environmental cleanliness and sustainability.
Addefort Nigeria therefore calls on stakeholders and the general public to participate actively in the activities, reinforcing a shared commitment to environmental protection, climate action, and a greener future for Nigeria.
