WorldStage– LG Electronics, one of Nigeria’s household electronic gadgets suppliers, recently widened its health insurance cover for buyers of its air conditioners to include more than 20 health conditions in addition to malaria.
The corporate social responsibility upgrade came through a partnership with AXA Mansard Health, and will be covering upper respiratory tract infections (URTI), mild cough, and mild bronchial asthma.
Others include gastrointestinal, diarrhoea, dysentery, abdominal colic, and worm infections.
It also covers skin and eye infections, dermatitis, furunculosis, lacerations, and bruises.
The scheme equally covers musculo-skeletal pains, myalgia, urinary tract infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, and other uncomplicated bacterial, fungal, and viral infections.
“This initiative reflects our understanding of what truly matters to Nigerian consumers beyond the products they purchase,” said Joonkyu Song, general manager, Eco Solutions Division, LG Electronics Nigeria.
“We began by addressing malaria because of its widespread impact, and today we are proud to take this initiative further by offering more comprehensive health coverage.
Song said it is LG’s way of supporting Nigerian families not just with reliable home solutions, but with care that extends into their everyday lives.
Most of the health conditions the initiative covers are under the primary health care service in Nigeria.
