WorldStage– Telecommunications operator Airtel Africa Plc has announced that its mobile fintech subsidiary, Airtel Mobile Commerce N.V. (Airtel Money), intends to proceed with an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and seek admission to trading on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
According to a corporate notification issued on September 23, 2026, and filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and international exchanges, Airtel Money plans to apply for admission to the commercial companies category of the Financial Conduct Authority’s Official List.
Key Highlights of the IPO Announcement:
Secondary Share Offering: The proposed flotation will consist of a secondary offering of existing ordinary shares sold by current Airtel Money shareholders, with no new equity capital being raised by Airtel Money itself.
Parent Company Stake: Airtel Africa currently holds a 77.85% beneficial interest in Airtel Money’s issued ordinary share capital. Following the listing, Airtel Africa expects to remain a long-term strategic majority shareholder supporting Airtel Money’s next growth phase as an independently listed entity.
Listing Venue: Premium listing on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange.
