WorldStage Newsonline– Chellarams Plc, a leading Nigerian conglomerate with capabilities that span a diverse array of industries including manufacturing, retail, distribution, marketing and power generation on Wednesday notified the general public of the delay in filing its audited financial statements for the year ended 31st March, 2020 and its unaudited financial statements for the period ended 30th June, 2020
The notification signed by Ehimare Isiramen, Acting Company Secretary and filed at the Nigerian Stock Exchange said the delay was occasioned by the circumstances foisted on the company by the COVID- 19 pandemic which negatively impacted the company’s usual work schedules and prevented its external auditors and staff from concluding the requisite audit and accounting processes before regulatory deadlines.
“Having been granted a further extension until 28th September, 2020 by the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the company has obtained the assurances of its external auditors that the audited finacial statements and unaudited financial statements for the period ended 30th June, 2020 would be duly filed before the extended date,” the note said.
