WorldStage– Nigeria’s Senate President Godswill Akpabio has declared that President Bola Tinubu will secure more than two million votes in Akwa Ibom State during the 2027 presidential election.
Akpabio made the proclamation on Friday, November 6, 2026 during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally held in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
The high-profile event drew key party chieftains, political office holders, and grassroots mobilisers as part of the ruling party’s early strategic push for the upcoming general elections.
Addressing the crowd, Akpabio clarified the state’s voting readiness by correcting a previous statistical report given by the Director-General of the campaign team.
Challenging a previous estimate of 1.8 million collected Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), Akpabio maintained that over two million residents have actually gathered their cards, pledging that all those votes will go to Tinubu.
“We don’t play tricks in Akwa Ibom, we deliver as it should be delivered,” Akpabio remarked, assuring that the electorate is prepared to return the President to Aso Rock.
The Senate President lauded political alignment across the South-South region, noting that regional governors are rallying behind Tinubu’s economic and developmental agenda.
This rally is part of a broader re-election push that includes a subsequent APC event in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Party leaders view the South-South as a key battleground, fortified by recent high-profile defections and in appreciation of federal infrastructure projects directed to the area.
