SUNU Health Nigeria Limited says it will soon unveil a mobile application to make healthcare services more accessible to its enrollees.
The SUNU Managing Director, Dr Moyosore Olomola, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Tuesday that the app would operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and throughout the year.
Olomola said that the organisation had numerous agents and teams ready to attend to subscribers, enrollees and prospective clients who might have questions or required assistance.
“However, due to telecommunications or network issues, people may not always be able to get through to us. In such situations, they may think the problem is from our end.
“Nonetheless, we are creating additional channels through which people can access our services.
“For those who had called and were unable to reach us, we have a WhatsApp channel where they can relay their concerns.
“The hospitals providing services to our enrollees also have access to communicate with us via email, and we respond to such emails in real time as they come in,” he said.
Olomola further stated that the organisation had embraced technology to improve service delivery and efficiency.
He said that the Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO) had developed a self-service platform known as the ‘Provider Portal’ for hospitals.
The managing director said that the portal would allow hospitals to access the HMO’s database and connect their facilities online to verify the eligibility of enrollees in real time and obtain automatic authorisation for primary healthcare services.
“Only a few cases may require hospitals to contact us through email or telephone, particularly for secondary healthcare services, which are less common than primary care cases.
“We believe that with all these interventions, accessing healthcare services at the facility of your choice should be as seamless as possible within our HMO network.
“Nonetheless, we recognise that some people may still encounter challenges.“We now have a dedicated Customer Experience Unit to support anyone with complaints, concerns or issues they wish to report,” he said.
