The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) today, March 27, 2026, released the First Series Computer-Based WASSCE results for private candidates with 3,429 candidates (32.72%) achieving credits in five subjects or more, including English and Mathematics.
The results, according to the Council are available at WAEC Direct within 12 hours of the announcement.
A total of 10,480 candidates sat for the exam, with 3,429 obtaining 5+ credits, including English and Maths, representing a 32.72% performance rate.
The 32.72% credit rate shows a 5.76% improvement over the 26.96% recorded in the 2025 first series.
The exam was held from January 28 to February 14, 2026, across 166 centers, with 43 special needs candidates supported.
Candidates can check their results on the WAEC Direct portal using their Exam Number, PIN, and Serial Number.
Candidates can also access their results within 12 hours of the announcement on Friday, March 27, 2026.
The marking and coordination were conducted in Lagos, Enugu, and Kaduna, featuring 608 examiners.
The results indicate a modest improvement in overall performance compared to previous years.
