Liverpool forward, Diogo Jota tragically died in a car accident in Spain on July 3, 2025, at the age of 28.
Reports said the accident occurred early Thursday morning in Zamora, Spain, when Jota’s sports car suffered a tire blowout, veered off the A-52 highway, and burst into flames. Unfortunately, Jota and his brother, André Felipe, a footballer for Peñafiel, also lost their lives in the crash.
Specifically the accident happened on the A-52 highway in Zamora province, Spain.
Reports suggest their Lamborghini may have suffered a tire burst while overtaking, leading to the deadly incident.
The crash was said to have occurred around 12:30 am local time when he vehicle went off-road and caught fire, killing both Jota and his brother.
This incident comes just two weeks after Jota’s wedding to his long-time partner, Rute Cardoso.
