WorldStage Newsonline– The Chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC) Sub-Committee on Crude Oil Theft, Gov. Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has said that the sub-committee was working assiduously to address oil theft which he described as a “monster.”
He told newsmen shortly after meeting with the Chairman of NEC, Vice President Kashim Shettima, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja that ” We are addressing it. At the end of the day, we are going to bring a final solution to this monster called crude oil theft,” the governor assured.”
The sub-committee was constituted in Dec. 21, 2023 following deliberations on critical economic matters and assessments of potential short-term, medium and long-term strategies for addressing pressing economic issues.
Uzodinma said that the sub-committee was working assiduously to address oil theft which he described as a “monster.”
“I come to welcome back the Vice President From the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and you know he is the Chairman of NEC.
“I came to give him an interim briefing arising from the sub-committee on crude oil theft that I am chairing on behalf of NEC. So, we had a very positive discussion. It’s still a work in progress.
