WorldStage Newsonline– Unity Bank has said that in line with the mandate of its shareholders to engage potential investors to recapitalize, the bank was talking to a number of investors and would update the public at the appropriate time.
The bank in a reaction to reports that Milost Global Inc was set to invest $1 billion in it, said it had not received such fund as consultations were still going on with other potential investors.
“We won’t jump the gun. We are operating in a regulated environment and no single investor can pressure it into taking wrong steps,” the bank said in a statement.
The bank said no amount of effort would be considered too much in ensuring that the recapitalization program was transparently conducted and urged for calm among the investment community.
