WorldStage– The Nigerian military has arrested a suspected bandit, Sule Yellow, who allegedly used TikTok to promote terrorist activities and flaunt kidnap proceeds.
Sule Yellow, alleged to have collected ransom from a victim’s family and promoted bandit activities online, is part of a growing trend where criminal elements in Northern Nigeria use social media to reach audiences and flaunt their audacity.
Other notable cases as Sule’s include Suleiman Yakubu, a 34-year-old arrested in July 2024 for inciting violence via the TikTok account Dan_Mallam68; Kachalla Alti, a high-profile commander known as “the money bank” for his control of ransoms, who was recently neutralized in a military operation after being active on TikTok.
The suspect was apprehended by troops on Monday, March 16, 2026, shortly after he allegedly collected a ransom payment from the family of a kidnapped victim.
Operating under the TikTok handle @suleyellow6, he frequently showcased bandit operations.
On March 4, 2026, he reportedly appeared on a livestream with another suspected bandit identified as Auta.
Following his arrest, security forces disabled the TikTok account associated with him to prevent further promotion of criminal activities.
The development has stirred reactions online, especially as security agencies continue efforts to clamp down not only on armed groups but also on individuals accused of aiding, promoting, or benefiting from ransom-related crimes through digital platforms.
