WorldStage– Nigeria’s university admission body, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that candidates whose 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) sessions were disrupted by technical failures will be rescheduled .
JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this on Friday, April 17, 2026 while addressing concerns regarding the Good Success Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre in Utako, Abuja.
The disruptions were attributed to system glitches and technical deficiencies that prevented candidates from completing or starting their exams.
Speaking during a monitoring exercise with the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education, the Board assured parents and candidates that those affected at this specific center—and others nationwide—would be given a new date to sit for the examination.
According to JAMB, affected candidates are advised to follow these steps to secure their new examination slot: Candidates must regularly check the official JAMB portal to reprint their examination slips, as the new date, time, and venue will be updated there; and monitor the phone numbers and email addresses used during registration for SMS or email notifications regarding the new schedule.
JAMB typically organizes a mop-up examination for all candidates nationwide whose centers failed due to verifiable technical issues.
Rescheduling, according to the board, is strictly for verified technical failures and has stated that candidates who miss their exams due to lateness or personal absence will not be rescheduled.
