WorldStage– First HoldCo Plc has appointed two women and three men to chair the boards of its non-commercial banking subsidiaries, a move the group says will rejig its governance, strengthen oversight, and position for sustainable growth.
First Asset Management Ltd and FirstCap Ltd now have Ebikabo Williams and Yewande Amusan as respective board’s chairpersons.
A disclosure company secretary Abiola Baruwa published on NGX January 9 described Williams’ extensive industry knowledge that cuts across banking, capital markets, and consulting. Amusan, the document also stated, is a finance professional with experience in the private and the public sectors.
For First Security Brokers Ltd and First Trustees Ltd, the group appointed John Akpeki and John Lee as respective board chairmen.
Akpeki is bringing on his wealth of experience in global marketing and networking. And Lee will infuse his 40-year experience in corporate and institutional banking and wealth management.
Akinola Phillips now chairs First Insurance Brokers’ board.
Group’s Chairman Femi Otedola commended the appointees for their track records and distinguished careers in their fields.
“These appointments reaffirm our commitment to building resilient businesses that contribute meaningfully to economic development in the broader ecosystem in which we operate,” he said.
