Ericsson, a multinational telecommunications company, says 15 leading global technology firms have inaugurated the Trusted Tech Alliance to strengthen trust, security and resilience across the digital ecosystem.
The President and Chief Executive Officer of Ericsson, Börje Ekholm, said this in a statement on Sunday, following the announcement at the Munich Security Conference.
Ekholm said the Alliance brought together companies from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America to build a trusted technology stack across connectivity, cloud infrastructure, semiconductors, software and artificial intelligence.
“No single company or country can build a secure and trusted digital stack alone. Rather, trust and security can only be achieved together,” he said.
Ekholm said the Trusted Tech Alliance would continue to expand its membership to advance sovereignty, resilience and competitiveness in the global digital economy.
Also, David Zapolsky, Chief Global Affairs and Legal Officer of Amazon Web Services, said collaboration among like-minded industry peers was essential to promote customer trust and realise the full benefit of technology on the economy and society.
He said Amazon was joining the Alliance to reinforce its commitment to provide customers with trusted, secure and resilient technology.
Also, Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft, said it was critical in the current geopolitical environment for like-minded companies to work together to protect security and advance high global standards.
Smith said the alliance was based not on nationality but on shared commitments to customers, showing that technology can be secure, reliable and responsibly operated wherever deployed.
Commenting, Strive Masiyiwa, Founder and Executive Chairman of Cassava Technologies, said the company was proud to be a founding member of the Trusted Tech Alliance.
Masiyiwa said responsible leadership and collaboration at the global level would ensure that technology continues to enable human progress and inclusive economic development.
He noted that this was especially important for young people and future generations, as emerging technologies reshape economies and societies.
According to the statement, other companies in the Alliance include Anthropic, Cohere, Google Cloud, Hanwha Group, Jio Platforms, Nokia, Nscale, NTT, Rapidus, Saab and SAP.
