WorldStage– Nigeria’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has opened the application portal for ad-hoc staff recruitment for the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election.
The off cycle governorship election is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026.
The Commission opened the portal on Saturday, April 25, 2026 and said it will close at midnight on May 18, 2026.
According to INEC, applications must be submitted through the INECPRES portal or the official Android mobile app.
INEC is recruiting for several temporary roles with specific eligibility criteria, including Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), open to federal public/civil servants on Grade Level 10–14, or INEC staff not engaged in other duties.
Other offices available for applications are Presiding Officers (POs) & Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs) which are open to serving NYSC members, former NYSC members (within specific years), federal/state MDA staff, and penultimate students of tertiary institutions.
Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers, open to heads of schools or staff (Grade Level 07 and above) of institutions hosting a RAC; and Registration Area Technical Support Staff (RATECHSS), reserved as Technical roles typically for qualified ICT personnel.
“Before starting your application on INECPRES, ensure you have the following ready: A functional email address and mobile phone number, a personal bank account number, a recent passport photograph with a white background (not larger than 5MB), a valid Staff ID or Student ID, an NYSC call-up number (for current or former corps members), scanned copies of your highest qualification (PDF) and a valid means of identification (JPG/JPEG),” INEC listed.
It warned applicants to beware of fake recruitment websites and to always use the verified official INEC website for electoral updates.
