WorldStage– A Federal High Court in Abuja has issued an order barring politician and publisher Omoyele Sowore from making further statements considered detrimental to national peace and security.
Justice Mohammed Umar delivered the ruling on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, and warned that the court would not hesitate to revoke Sowore’s bail if he repeated such conduct.
Sowore is restrained by the order from making any further comments that are deemed harmful to the peace and security of the country.
Justice Umar threatened to revoke the existing bail granted to Sowore in an earlier case if he violates the new order.
Sowore is currently on bail in another, separate case (for allegedly calling the President a “criminal”), with his international passport still held by the court.
The judge noted these factors in the current ruling, finding Sowore qualified for bail on self-recognition for the current charge.
This ruling is part of ongoing legal proceedings against Sowore by the Nigerian authorities over his social media posts and his involvement in protests, particularly those related to the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow movement.
