MTN Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Nigerian youths to drive positive change through creativity, innovation, and community action.
Mr Abu-Sufyan Aliyu, Senior Manager, Sales and Distribution, Kano Area, stated this during the activation of the Go Make the Difference (Go M.A.D) experience on Saturday in Kano.
Aliyu said the event in Kano followed similar successful activations in Abuja, Enugu, Calabar, Ibadan, Benin, Aba, and Jos.
He explained that Kano was selected for the campaign due to its rich cultural heritage and strategic importance in commercial activities in Northern Nigeria.
“This activation is part of MTN’s nationwide mission to inspire Nigerians to take bold steps toward community development and digital innovation.
“At MTN, we’re committed to progress, empowering Nigerians to rise above challenges and build something remarkable.
“This campaign is our way of saying: we see your hustle, we believe in your ideas, and we’re here to support your journey,” he said.
Aliyu said the event aimed to recognise local entrepreneurs, artisans, creatives, and digital innovators in Kano, who were using technology to grow their businesses and careers.
“These individuals are excelling in their respective fields and are shining examples of how digital tools can drive growth, amplify ideas, and create sustainable change.
“This event will feature an engaging blend of entertainment, Hausa culture, interactive games, and motivational real-life stories, with special appearances by prominent celebrities,” he said.
Earlier, Ms Oyeronke George, Manager, Go-To-Market, urged guests to take bold steps and make a difference.
“Go make a difference. Stand out in your community and make an impact. With MTN data, the opportunities are limitless,” she said.
George said the company was focused on nurturing a generation of Nigerians who would use technology and innovation to address local challenges.
Mr Hamza Adamu Panda, Managing Director, Fantel Nigeria Ltd., a retail partner of MTN Nigeria, commended the telecoms company for its dedication to community development and digital innovation.
Panda said MTN had played a key role in helping Nigerian youths realise their dreams.
He recalled starting his partnership with MTN in 2001 with only three staff members, which had now grown to over 200 employees and 30 branches across five states.
“Now, we have the Fantel Business School, where we build capacity and inspire young entrepreneurs.
“I am proud of MTN because it is my success story,” he said.
