WorldStage– The Nigerian Army has confirmed a series of coordinated security operations carried out between November 29 and December 1, 2025, targeting terrorist groups, kidnappers, gunrunners, and other violent criminal networks across the country.
The operations, according to the Army, spanned the North East, North Central, North West, and South-South regions, yielding significant results.
It disclosed that in the North East (Borno State), troops of the 151 Task Force Battalion, 152 Task Force Battalion, and 192 Battalion conducted ambush and clearance missions against ISWAP and Boko Haram (JAS) cells.
Giving further disclosures, the Army stated: “In the operation, four terrorists were neutralized and items as AK-47 rifles, assorted magazines, hundreds of rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and communication handsets were recovered.
“In the North Central and North West (Plateau, Taraba, Benue, Kogi, Kaduna), under Operation Whirl Stroke, Operation Safe Haven, and Operation Enduring Peace, troops intensified efforts to dismantle kidnapping and criminal syndicates.
“In the combat campaign, twenty kidnap victims were rescued and several suspects arrested for kidnapping, human trafficking, illegal mining, extremist collaboration, and narcotics.
“In Taraba State, soldiers neutralized four violent extremists during a response to a communal clash in Karim Lamido.
“In Plateau State, security forces recovered 76 rustled cattle and returned them to their rightful owners.
“At South-South (Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers States) fronts, security forces also targeted cultism, crude oil theft, and drug networks.
“In Delta State, troops recovered locally fabricated firearms and arrested two suspected cultists.
“An illegal refining site containing about 1,000 liters of stolen crude oil was shut down.
“Joint operations with the NDLEA led to the arrest of 25 drug-related suspects.
“During the operations, a major arms trafficker was arrested. Shuaibu Isah, a suspected gunrunner was intercepted while attempting to receive 1,000 rounds of ammunition. Authorities say investigations into his wider network are ongoing.”
The military reiterated its resolve to deny criminals any operational space, stating that it “remains determined to ensure that terrorists, criminals, and their collaborators have no safe haven.”
Across all theatres, the Army said the operations resulted in neutralizing eight terrorists, arrest of fifty-one suspects, rescue of twenty-seven victims, and recovery of multiple weapons, ammunition, and illicit materials.
