WorldStage— The Association of Yoruba Obas and Leaders in the Northern States of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has declared its total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The body announced its position in a communique following a high-level stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja on Sunday, August 8, 2026.
The traditional rulers and community leaders stated that their endorsement is rooted in the visible advancements achieved by the administration across critical sectors.
In a joint communique issued after the assembly, the association highlighted significant improvements in national security.
They praised the revitalized efforts of the armed forces in neutralizing threats and restoring peace to previously volatile regions in the North and across the federation.
According to the leaders, the enhanced safety measures have boosted the confidence of farmers and rural communities.
The royal fathers also commended the administration’s interventions in the education sector, specifically pointing to the successful implementation of the student loan scheme, structural upgrades in public institutions, and welfare packages for educators.
These initiatives, they noted, have made quality education more accessible to ordinary Nigerians.
Addressing the economic landscape, the association acknowledged the administration’s strategic reforms and lauded the stabilization of the fuel supply chain, which has eliminated the disruptive petroleum scarcity of the past.
The leaders emphasized that the removal of trade bottlenecks and targeted fiscal interventions are gradually steering the economy toward sustainable growth and curbing inflation.
In the communique issued after the meeting, the group stated: “We have keenly observed the governance trajectory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
“The bold policies implemented so far are yielding tangible fruits. Security is returning, our schools are being repositioned, the perennial fuel queues have vanished, and the economy is finding its rhythm. As traditional custodians living in the North and the FCT, we stand firmly behind the President’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria.”
The delegation urged all Nigerians to exercise patience and cooperate with the Federal Government. They emphasized that long-term national transformation requires collective support and resilient citizenship.
The group concluded by pledging to continue fostering inter-ethnic harmony and promoting the administration’s development agenda within their respective northern domains.
