WorldStage– Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged northern-based creative industry professionals to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Shettima made the appeal on Wednesday when a delegation of Northern Performing Artists, under Triple-R For Renewed Hope, visited the APC campaign office in Abuja.
He said the North stood to benefit significantly from the administration’s initiatives aimed at developing Nigeria’s creative economy.
He added that Tinubu deserved the collective support of northerners in the interest of fairness, inclusiveness and national unity.
Shettima said the Federal Government was implementing policies to empower local talent, preserve cultural heritage and create economic opportunities through the creative arts.
He assured northern artists that the administration would continue introducing targeted interventions to support regional artists, filmmakers and musicians.
The vice president also stressed the importance of reciprocal support from northern stakeholders for the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
On Tinubu’s reforms, Shettima urged the group to remain steadfast in supporting the administration and the APC.
He said the benefits of government programmes and policies would continue to manifest across various sectors in the coming months and years.
Earlier, Sen. Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, said Tinubu’s re-election would be based on the administration’s achievements.
Yari urged support groups and individuals to assess the administration based on its performance ahead of the 2027 elections.
He also called on creative industry professionals to disregard claims by political opponents that the North had been excluded from appointments and projects.
The lawmaker said the region had been fairly treated by the administration and remained integral to Nigeria’s democratic development.
Similarly, Aminu Masari, Deputy Director-General, Parliamentary Mobilisation, APC Presidential Campaign Council, thanked the professionals for supporting APC candidates.
Masari said Tinubu’s programmes and policies were positively affecting the creative industries and urged professionals to leverage emerging opportunities.
Former APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, also thanked the group for its support for the administration.
He urged the creatives to promote justice, fairness and inclusiveness in their campaign for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Ganduje described Triple-R For Renewed Hope as one of the APC’s organic support groups in the country.
He advocated improved infrastructure and training for upcoming northern artistes to strengthen Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Responding, Dauda Rarara, President of the group, pledged its support for Tinubu and other APC candidates across the North.
Rarara said northern creatives were united in building a common front to support Tinubu’s re-election and regional APC candidates.
He said the group’s support was organic and based on the administration’s performance.
Rarara added that professionals in the northern film industry remained united behind APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
