The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun 1 Area Command, Idiroko, has reiterated its commitment to further fight smugglers to a standstill to prevent illicit goods from coming into the country in 2026.
Mr Oladapo Afeni, the Area Comptroller, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Idiroko.
Afeni reaffirmed the command’s unwavering efforts to sustaining the tempo and momentum against illicit goods that pose serious threat to the country.
“The Ogun 1 Area Command remain vigilant, alert and ready to confront any threat to the economic, and security interests of our nation in 2026,” he said.
Afeni enjoined the public to help in providing useful information that could assist towards curbing illegal activities in the border zones.
The comptroller also warned the people who are fond of engaging in smuggling activities to refrain from such act and turn a life in 2026.
Afeni assured that the command would continue to serve with integrity, courage and professionalism, guided by its mandate and committed to national development.
