WorldStage– Musa Bakari, initiator and convener of the Atiku Haske Organisation, has dismissed Abba Atiku Abubakar from the group for defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
On Sunday, January 18, at 2026, the Atiku Haske Organisation (AHO) officially expelled Abba Atiku Abubakar, the son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, following his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The move followed Abba’s announcement on Thursday, January 15, 2026, that he had joined the ruling APC. After defecting, Abba reportedly directed members of his political structure to join him in supporting President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
Musa Bakari, the initiator and convener of the Atiku Haske Organisation, stated that Abba had no authority to determine the group’s political direction.
He emphasized that Abba was neither the founder nor a principal stakeholder and had allegedly never contributed financially to the group’s activities.
The organization rejected Abba’s attempt to rename his faction the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation, clarifying that the original group remains loyal to Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform.
The group’s leadership declared Abba’s directives “dead on arrival” and challenged him to form his own independent group if he wished to support the APC.
Abba Atiku’s defection was received by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, at the National Assembly complex in Abuja.
