Nestlé Nigeria has rewarded its consumers across the country with N80 million prizes in a nationwide promotional campaign aimed at supporting households and deepening consumer engagement.
The company gave the N80 million in cash and gifts at the prize presentation ceremony held in Lagos on Friday.
The overall winner, Mr Akujieze Ejiofor, a graduate of Public Administration from Anambra State University, won the N5 million grand prize.
Ejiofor said he never imagined emerging top in the promotion, having initially aimed for a small reward.
“I feel so good. I didn’t envisage this at all. All I did was target a N2,000 voucher, but here I am, emerging the overall winner. This is divine grace,” he said.
Ejiofor described the opportunity as life-changing.
“I appreciate Nestlé Nigeria for this opportunity. I will be establishing myself soon, though I would not want to disclose it yet. I came all the way from Plateau State to receive this prize, it means a lot to me,” he said.
Other beneficiaries of the campaign included Blessing Akpan, Monsurat Lawal, Favour Godswill, Amina Umar and Kingsley Uwuala, who received rewards ranging from smartphones, 55-inch television sets, household appliances to cash prizes of up to N1 million.
Speaking at the event, Nestlé Nigeria Managing Director, Mr Wassim Elhusseini, said the initiative was designed to recognise consumers and provide meaningful support to households.
Elhusseini, represented by Mr Josué Mbassi, Country Controller, said the campaign reflected the company’s understanding of everyday consumer realities.
“Beyond the figures, what truly stands out are the impactful stories: families supported, small businesses strengthened, and individuals encouraged in meaningful ways,” he said.
He added that the promotion recorded strong nationwide participation and achieved wide reach across diverse demographics.
Also speaking, Mr Omofasa Orhiunu, Category Manager for Healthy Cereals at Nestlé Nigeria, said the campaign was structured to be inclusive and easy for consumers to join.
“We wanted to create something simple, inclusive and accessible, something that allowed every Nigerian to participate easily and feel genuinely rewarded,” he said.
Orhiunu disclosed that over 200,000 consumers took part in the promotion, with 16,000 winners emerging across seven draws.
“These are not just numbers; they represent real people, families, students, traders and young Nigerians, each with their own story,” he said.
He added that more than 1,200 participants won cash prizes ranging from N10,000 to N1 million, while about 15,000 others received airtime rewards to support daily needs.
