WorldStage Newsonine– Ondo State’s Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa dissolved the state’s Executive Council on Wednesday.
His media aide, Mr Ebenezer Adeniyan, stated in Akure that by the dissolution, all cabinet members were to immediately hand over to permanent secretaries or to the most senior administrative officer in their ministries.
He added that other political appointees such as Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to the governor were also relieved of their appointments.
“All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession.
“The governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of Ondo State,’’ Adeniyan stated.
Aiyedatiwa became Ondo State governor on Dec. 27 following the demise of his former principal, ex-Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu while still in office.
Meanwhile, a former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr Olaide Adelami, has been named the deputy governor of the state.
The State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, unveiled his deputy through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan.
He said the name of the new deputy governor has been transmitted to the state House of Assembly for approval.
“His nomination will be announced by the House of Assembly later today,” the CPS said.
