WorldStage Newsonline– The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), has sought a partnership with the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) to promote engineering excellence and professionalism within the industry.
The President of NSE, Mrs Margaret Oguntala in a statement said the partnership was sought during a visit by the Society to the Group Managing Director of NLNG, Dr Philip Mshelbila, to further strengthen the relationship between the duo.
She commended Nigerian engineers at NLNG for their pivotal role in operating the nation’s strategic facilities.
Oguntala encouraged the engineers to unite under the Bonny branch of the NSE to amplify their collective voice.
“This visit underscores NSE’s commitment to fostering a collaborative and sustainable engineering community.
“The society also ensures that Nigerian engineers continue to excel and contribute significantly to the nation’s development.
“We are here to engage with our colleagues, listen to their challenges, and discuss potential solutions to enhance their professional environment and productivity,” she said.
During a tour of key sections at the NLNG, the NSE president lauded the precision and expertise displayed by the engineers in the maintenance section.
According to her, it is admirable to see highly skilled Nigerian engineers in the maintenance section showcase their use of state-of-the-art equipment to fabricate components according to manufacturers’ specifications
Responding, the group managing director, NLNG, Mshelbila commended the NSE for its role in uniting Nigerian engineers.
He also lauded the society for its ongoing efforts to promote engineering excellence and other initiatives.
In his remark, Mr Albert Onyendi, Chairman, Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria(PENGASAN), expressed delight at the visit of the NSE president.
The head of the flagship Train 7 project, Mr Alli Uwais, also an engineer, commended the NSE for its unique strategic initiatives.
