The Federal Government says it plans to deliver and commission several housing projects across Abuja, Lagos and other locations between August and December.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Darma, disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja at the groundbreaking of a 250-unit Renewed Hope Civil Servants Estate.
Darma said 122 rent-to-own housing units would be delivered before the end of August, while additional housing projects would be commissioned in September, October and December.
According to the minister, the planned deliveries include 252 housing units in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos; 300 units in Abuja; 2,800 units in Karsana, Abuja; 2,000 units and another 1,500 units at other locations.
The minister also said 2,129 housing units are scheduled for delivery in December.
“Before the end of this month, we will do another ceremony. We will deliver 122 rent-to-own houses to the beneficiaries before the end of this month.
“In the month of September, it will be a rundown of activities delivering houses to Nigerians.
“We will deliver 252 in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. Another 300 units will be delivered in Abuja here.
“In October, we will deliver 2,800 units of housing in Karsana, Abuja.
“My brother here mentioned how we are transforming Karsana. We will invite you all to come and witness the delivery of those projects in Karsana, 2,000 housing units.
“Also in September, another set of 1,500 housing units will be delivered to Nigerians.
“In December, we will deliver another 2,129 housing units to Nigerians,” he said.
The minister added that from Wednesday to the end of the administration in May 2027, the ministry would focus on delivering projects rather than making promises.
He assured Nigerians that the ministry would deliver on the Tinubu administration’s housing mandate.
“From today to the end of this year and end of this government in May 2027, everything that you will see will now be action, action, and action.
“Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, we are going to deliver on the mandate that Mr. President assigned to us,” he said.
